Destruction of the ISS
Houdini:

  • Use of Houdini’s MPM solver (Mesh to Particle to Mesh) for metal simulation

  • Clouds generated using texture maps and Pyro

  • Then converted to VDB and compressed using zibraVDB

  • Particle simulations created in Houdini and exported as JSON for Niagara

Unreal:

  • Simulation imported as Alembic

  • Clouds imported as VDB using the zibraVDB plugin

  • Particle simulation imported via Niagara

  • Lighting, camera work, sequencer, post-process, and rendering
