Visual Consistency & Asset Continuity

The biggest challenge in Generative AI isn't creating a single stunning image, but maintaining visual fidelity across multiple shots. To meet narrative production standards, I have developed rigorous workflows that guarantee absolute consistency for characters, props, and environments.

By combining custom model training (LoRA), ControlNet for structural guidance, and IPAdapters for style transfer, I can lock in a subject's visual identity. This approach allows for the integration of AI-generated assets into complex sequences without visual breakage (unwanted morphing or flickering), ensuring the continuity required for professional storytelling.

AI-Assisted R&D and Creation

I view generative AI as a natural extension of my FX toolkit. It integrates into several key stages of my workflow:

Concept & Art Direction: Creating moodboards and rapid iterations on character and environment designs.

Filmmaking & Storytelling: Shot visualization (previs) and layout assistance.

Compositing & Post-production: Texture generation, AI-assisted matte painting, and complex clean-ups.

My approach remains technical and controlled: the goal is to achieve precise, consistent results that fit seamlessly into a professional production pipeline.

Generative AI: Expanding the FX Pipeline

As an FX artist, my role has always been about mastering technology to serve an artistic vision. Today, I integrate Generative AI not to replace the creative process, but to upgrade it. From the concept phase (visual development, character design) to filmmaking, AI allows me to explore concepts faster and push art direction further.

I also leverage these tools in compositing for technical tasks (inpainting, set extensions), turning AI into a powerful production assistant that frees up time for pure creativity.

Why ComfyUI? The Power of Node-Based Workflows

Coming from procedural environments like Houdini and Nuke, adopting ComfyUI was a natural step. Unlike "black box" solutions, ComfyUI allows me to build custom workflows through its nodal architecture.

This is a vital asset for an FX artist: it offers granular control over every step of the generation process (ControlNet, IPAdapter, Upscaling). It allows me to guarantee the visual consistency required for a short film or FX production, where other tools rely too much on randomness.
